A few days ago, I was in the area with a family member, when she spotted the “you-cannot-miss-it-bright-animal-decorated” building and insisted that I stop so that she could check it out. It was my second visit here. This time I didn’t try to phone first; we simply walked in and took a self-guided tour of the lobby. I could see that they were busy, so I did not ask any questions. Several staff members were at the front desk assisting customers and their pets.
When the customers and pets needs were met, one of the staff approached us and offered to be of assistance. I explained that we were just passing by and that we were interested since several of our family members have pets and they travel to this area, some from 50 to 1,000 miles away. The staff member showed us all around the facility and thoroughly answered all of our questions.
The first important question that it answered was that the facility behind the closed doors behind the front desk is as immaculately clean as what you see in the lobby! This is not something that a brochure or Internet site can tell you; also, it’s something that you want to know before you board your pet.
In addition to this very important question that my nose answered, was that the staff was friendly, knowledgeable, and had a love for all animals, not just dogs and cats. I was surprised to learn that they had sheltered other types of animals. Also, the facility even had vet-techs that could administer various medicines, if your pet required them. The cost is an additional $2.00 per dose.
Besides all the things that a brochure did or did not tell me, what really spoke to me was that personable and devoted staff person. People make all the difference. Thanks—A!
